Fewture, Devilman serie 2 - DANTE bonus figure

Publié le 28 Février 2007 par Hellric dans Action figures

Yeah, I did it !!! Got finally my last part to assemble the mighty Dante demon from Devilman. It is an impressive beast, wicked, evil yet majestic. Thanks to the Devilman fans of the Spawn.com boards for tips, and extra special thanks to Kondoh Masayuki, great ebayer from Japan, for finding me 7 of the 10 figures of the collection in a very short time !

More pics are up in the action figures gallery :

Wings of Rean - Aura Batller Nanajin - Wave

Publié le 22 Février 2007 par Hellric dans Mech & robots

I liked very much  the Aura Battlers robots from Dunbine, so I was curious to see those from Wings of Rean, a spinoff story on Dunbine. That's why I ordered this action figure of Nanajin made by Wave.

The first surprise was a bad one : it's small ! Barely 16 cm high ! I expected more , having in mind the Aura Battlers from Bandai or Megahouse. It's also very light, and with this you have a bad sensation of fragility. Be very careful when you assemble the wings, they're frail.

Beside that, the design is sweet and original, elegant and insect-like. Details and paint applications are very good. It in scale and in detail very similar to Bandai's fix figuration. He comes in a nice clear plastic box, with a few accessories : 2 alternative heads (with wings), 2 sabers. Articulations are tight enough (easy with light parts ;) ) and there are a lot of them, so poseability is very nice.

A nice toy but with some flaws you better have to know before buying.

Fewture Devilman, new figures in house

Publié le 22 Février 2007 par Hellric dans Action figures

Thanks to a great ebayer from Japan, I managed to find a near complete serie 2 of the Devilman from Fewture. Only missing one part to have a full Dante bonus figure now, should be easy to get the missing one (already in travel :)

I also managed to get the black version of the Winged Devilman :

There's also a new gallery specifically about action figures, where you'll find pictures of Satan and Zenon who rejoined Zenotic Amon...

Second Custom Cthulhu complete

Publié le 21 Février 2007 par Hellric dans Cthulhu

Well, today I'd make the happy dance if I wasn't stuck by a damned sinisitis and fever. Why ? Because my second homemade Cthulhu is finished and I'm more than 90 % happy of the result :) I really love it cause it looks like no other. Painting it was a heavy task but I took much pleasure doing it. I tried to use basicly the same colours as the original toy (Water dragon 4 from Mc Farlane) but I gave them a deeper, richer tone, and used a jade colour instead of just grey for the body. I think the result is evidently a sea creature, but at the same time otherworldly, inspired from various ones as poisonous fishes, crustaceans, seahorse, turtle, etc. In the gallery you'll find comparison shots with the original dragon. As a final touch I added very thin fins/horns on the head, actually moustaches from my older cat :)

And now let's have a look :

Cthulhu custom 2, slow progress

Publié le 14 Février 2007 par Hellric dans Cthulhu

Hi there,

Sorry for the lack of updates but I don't want to show the Cthulhu before it's completely finished. Progress is slow as I can hardly find free time to paint it and so it takes much time than I thought initially, overload of work, you know that... But stay tuned, painting is more than 70 % done, and I'm happy with it so far, I took inspiration on the original Water dragon and also on various sea creatures...
