Nurgle Daemon Prince Cthulhu conversion WIP

Publié le 30 Novembre 2014 par Hellric dans Chaos & Demons, Cthulhu

I've been hard at work these days, and... the Nurgle glottkin-based Daemon Prince is now ready for the paint.

Wings are not glued so it'll be easier for the painting, right arms is also the tentacled one, as I wanted more symmetry. For the same reason I added 2 tentacles on the right of the belly. This model is also a nightmare for the gap filling :o Those GW plastic kit are not perfect ! this tentacle arm was not so easy to add because of how the kit is made, I also positioned the end of this tentacle to have a better pose.

On the textures, there are added pustules, Nurgle runes, chaos rune, even kind of souls trapped in it !

I'm very happy of the result, it has awesome presence on the table. Can't wait to have it painted but it'll be hard work as there's so much detail to do !

Cthulhu model : Pulp Monster kit

Publié le 30 Novembre 2014 par Hellric dans Cthulhu

I got my Pulp Monster Ultimate kit 2 weeks ago, so I assembled it as the Elder God, but I added the trident and the dinosaur tail, so this is my own version of this kit to have another Cthulhu to my collection. Very classical and a bit cartoonesque, but I like it !

Only originality is that usually Cthulhu has no weapon, but I thought a trident suits well for an aquatic creature :)

Nurgle Daemon Prince conversion WIP

Publié le 16 Novembre 2014 par Hellric

Hi guys,

I've begun working on the next project, got my Glottkin so I began the Daemon Prince of Nurgle based on this model.

The main body is assembled, I didn't like the head, so I replaced it with a tentacled head from Reaper minis. As I don't like broken horns, I converted them to be in full shape. I didn't like the bowels dropping on the belly so I had the idea of a "belly button" being a kind of circular mouth. I used the one of the right arm, as this one will feature another tentacle like the left arms (I wanted symmetry for the arms). Eagerly waiting for these extra parts to come from Ebay seller...

On the top I removed the fur textures and tried to get a similar structure to the reste of the body. Of course I won't use the warrior and mage on the back, so this texture had no interest.

For me all daemon princes should have wings and tail, so I added the tail of a manticore and will use the wings of the winged Nightmares from Vampire Counts. They're perfect : big and decayed :)

See you soon for more updates ;)

Cthulhu from Scibor miniatures painted

Cthulhu from Scibor miniatures painted

As promised, it wasn't long to paint this model, actually I did it in just one day !

Lots of great textures and details, a pleasure to simply work by dry brush and shading with inks. By the way these pics are just taken with my iPhone 6+ without any special lighting. Way easier than with my Fuji setup lol.

I love the worn look of it, really make him look ancient with his dinosaur-like back.

Now I've begun working of the Nurgle daemon prince using the Glottkin model (excellent one btw). Assembly and converting is on the way, now hunting on some extra parts on eBay, already got the wings, tail and tentacle head, so you can guess where I'm going with this one ;)

Some news at last !

Some news at last !

Hi guys, I'm sorry for the lack of updates last months, I've been away from the hobby, not painting, besides the fact that my wife made me repaint a half of our house lol. But as you might have read somewhere : that is not dead which can eternally lie ... ;)

Soooo, I'm now back to my brushes, and the planning should be heavy on the winter. I've begun to paint the Cthulhu from Scibor, should be quite fast to do. I've ordered the monster kit from pulp city, going to convert it as Cthulhu of course... Then I've had a big creative boost when I saw new GW releases.

First,The Glottkin: going to mount it and convert it to be a huge Nurgle daemon prince. Father Nurgle will be delighted lol !

Then, Tyranids. Haruspex. Toxicrene. Lots of tentacles. Need wings. Tyrant wings. Hive Queen for hive fleet Cthulhu. Got it ? ;)
