Kaiju - style Cthulhu

Publié le 7 Avril 2008 par Hellric in Cthulhu

Thanks to my Japanese friend, I've grabbed some cheap plastic figures from Kaiju movies like Gamera and Godzilla. These miniatures, incorrectly called "Gashapons" by many people, have actually some good details and their own style.
Then, when I got them, I told myself :"Why not make a Kaiju-style Cthulhu, as if Cthulhu was in some Gamera or Godzilla show ?".

A few months later, as time was available, I could finish the monster : a mix of turtle, dinosaur, dragon, and of course tentacles, big claws and wings as any good Cthulhu should have :)

A tasty detail is the Predator - like mandibles on each side of the jaw. The tentacles and some extra claws are made with Procreate grey stuff, that was also used to fill the gaps.

Also, in the general scheme  of making a Cthulhu-themed tyranid army, this guy would make a nice Guard - star spawn. The paintscheme was actually the same as my latest tyranid hive tyrant and Hive Queen II.

There's the beast :

You can as usual find more pictures : 123, and 4 more ! RRRRRROOOOAAAAARRRR !

What a wonderful creature ! It would be a great monster for a kaiju eiga film, or for a stop-motion film (Harryhausen's style).
