Yes it's me again, I'm in a very creative mood these days :)
I've had a Trygon/Mawloc kit for years in my cabinet, and the goal was to make a flying version of the Trygon at that time, but for some reasons I had lost motivation and inspiration and I forgot about it for a long time.
Recently, since I'm in Tyranid business again, I saw the kit again and ideas popped in my head, I made a parallel with the new Harpy kit, that would provide interesting wings and other bits. Then in the leftovers of the Haruspex and Toxicrene hive queen, I found the tentacles and tail, I didn't use them before because the model would look too "crowded". So the tentacles would be for the head in my own "Hivefleet Cthulhu" concept, but since I liked the teeth and mandibles of the Trygon kit, I used the tentacles as "tongues" sprouting from the maw, disgusting isn't it ?
The original idea of a flying Trygon had also turned to a much more cunning, menacing, heavy synapse creature, so I decided it would need legs and arms to be a kind of "uber Tyrant" (or call it another Hive Queen if you want ;) ).
The Tervigon kit provided perfect legs, just wanted them with extra hoves. For the arms, I also used Tervigon limbs but I needed extra joint, so a bit of converting was done, with added "thumb" to mimic a monstrous hand.
End of tail is the Haruspex tongue, some kind of ovipositor, the trygon's the poison glands would be small egg sacs...
On the back plates, I added Harpy blades to remind of the Harpy.
Man, I really had great time doing this monster, I'm pretty excited to see it finished, as I'm sure it'll kick ass !!!
