Hellcome aboard !

Welcome to this blog over my passion of collecting, constructing and painting miniatures and figures, for wargames, roleplay or showcase, including Warhammer 40K Tyranids, Chaos, Daemons, Cthulhu Mythos, and also various mechas like Gundam & Super Robots, etc...

After a quiet holiday period, time to present a new addition to my robot collection : my first step into the Macross world.
After long hesitations, my choice was the RVF-25 Messiah Luca Custom from Bandai.
I found the Yamato ones not detailed enough so I choose Bandai. I looked after the VF-25S but it was definitely too blocky, I wanted this RVF-25 not because of his discutable green colour, but because of the extra armor parts, the antenna blades AND the radar dome + different head from other VF-25's.
So as usual, I asked my Japanese friend to grab it at a very good price on Yahoo Japan.
I'm very happy of this model, paints and detail are great (not so great as Fewture's though). The diecast content is not so big but placed in useful places, I mean in articulations, so it feels solid and stable. It's very elegant, and so has a great shelf presence, I think I made a good choice.
As accessories there are usual hands open, straigth and closed, additionnal armor parts (grey ones on pics) and a gatling gun.
With his height of 24 cm, it's the same size as others favourites of mine, I mean the Great Mazinger from Fewture and the Genesic Gaogaigar from Max Factory.

It also transforms in plane (Fighter) and in a mix of robot and plane (Gerwalk), but my favourite is the robot (Battroid).

Hey folks,
I'm back from the beautiful city of Köln, where I attended the Games Workshop Games Day 2009.
It was my first Games Day, so I'll share with you the pictures of this event here. I met a few members of the Warpshadow community, so hello to Hydra, Terrorfex and the mighty Harald.

Regarding news about the Hobby, it was disappointing, just showing a few 40K Orks and the amazing Chaos Titan from Forgeworld. This amazing sculpt was done by sculptor extraordinaire Simon Egan, and this guy is really cool, we had a small talk with him, very interesting. We learned that Tyranids get their new codex next year, with at least 4 new new creatures and the return of "special characters", for example a surviving creature from the Tyran campaign, etc... Time to save money ;)

The biggest disappointment came from the absence of Space Hulk. Not a word, just a crappy teaser at the end. The game was release the next day, so I can't understand why it was not showed, strange commercial logic. We can say it was a crisis games day, there were no keynotes either.
Finally, the most interesting part was the Golden Demon galleries, so many wonderful entries with amazing technique and inspiration... It was an honor for my Cthulhu Tyrant to stand among them, even if it didn't even come close to the level of the best ones. My fellow Warpshadowers Hydra and Harald managed to grab Golden Demons again, kudos guys, you rock !

Now, I invite you to take a tour in the gallery showing all of these wonderful entries here.

My robot collection is slowly but surely growing, especially the A3 serie from Volks.
I'm happy to show you the next in line : the YF-23 "Black Widow", inspired by the USAF prototype air superiority fighter for his stealthy triangular design.
A good thing about this serie is that the quality is still improving, the paint in matte grey (radar absorbing material ?), titane and glowing green are perfect, joints are strong, balance is easier to find than on previous models. This model comes with full pack of accessories : sword, machinegun, knife and various hands and weapon mounts.

Additional views : back, front.
