Hellcome aboard !

Welcome to this blog over my passion of collecting, constructing and painting miniatures and figures, for wargames, roleplay or showcase, including Warhammer 40K Tyranids, Chaos, Daemons, Cthulhu Mythos, and also various mechas like Gundam & Super Robots, etc...

The new French rising star in the high quality miniatures world is going a step further by presenting miniatures for Scifi games,  and those are very sexy and desirable minis : the first models can be used for Imperium or Dark Eldars. Ici, Ivanka :

Today I discovered a new brand of miniatures and I wanted to share them with you as these are high quality resin miniatures with nice design, and I know many of you play Warhammer 40K, and these  would make gorgeous Space Marines Terminator heroes or even Primarch...

Check this one, it would make an awesome Wolf Lord or even the mighty Leman Russ himself :

Or there are models for ecclesiarchs and inquisitors :

In my neverending quest of collecting Cthulhu-related miniatures, I've found this new release from Khurasan Miniatures, the Octopus God from the Eldritch Horror series. I don't know why they didn't call it Cthulhu, but this is obviously it ! :)

It's a nice grey resin kit, measuring approximately 11.5 cm from the feet to the top of the wings, without base. It's a small version of the brilliant version from the sculptor Shaungent from Devian Art. This kit is part of a 15 mm miniature line called "Eldritch Horror", which is related to Lovecraft's writings and the Cthulhu Mythos. All the fundamentals of the concept are here but the way the artist created them is interesting and quite original.

I painted it with Citadel Paints (base in foundation paint, use of the new inks), I'm happy with the colour of the tentacles, which is a mix of elf flesh, orange and warlock purple with a purple ink.

So here is the beast, I'm happy to have this nice addition to my collection :

So after a month of work, the mindblowing model sculpted from scratch and a few tyranid parts by my friend Bocks comes now to life in color.

I choose to go for original scheme, wanted it to be sick, alien and menacing without falling in traditionnal nurgle-like schemes. I used lots of inks to have a bizarre touch and make every detail from the model stand out. It's certainly sick and disturbing even if I'm not 100% sure if it's good or not for the model... it takes some time to get used to this scheme, for me at least...

Once again I want to thank Bocks for his amazing work here and I really hope you like what you see :)

Now picture time !

As you had guessed if you follow this blog, I like collecting daemons.  So it was kind of mandatory for me to get Games Workshop's latest daemon prince. It's now a kit so it's even easier to customize and there are lots of options to go with. So I choose to keep it quite basic, I didn't use any other part than these of the box, went for the 40K version with chaos marine-like parts and wings, of course, instead of the backpack. I wanted to use both but it would be too much. Maybe a few years ago I'd have put both, but I said, "Keep it simple, stupid" :).

So, also for the paint scheme, it's very classical black legion/khornate style of Black, Red and Gold with some fire-like effects coming from inside the armour and the sword.

Compared to the Trollforged resin daemon lord kit, it's not so detailed and less original, but less static and it has the advantage to be usable for Warhammer 40K or Battle. About details, Trollforged is at the level of Forgeworld.

Stay tuned for the painting of the Cthulhu sculpt from Bocks ;)
